Description
Miss Matty, who has longed for a child in the house, has her dreams realized with the birth of Tilly to her maid Martha and carpenter Jem, and as the threat of a railway looms just outside of Cranford, Matty tries to introduce Mr. Buxton's son and niece to Peggy Bell, who lives in an isolated cottage, in hopes of building friendships.
